The Beginnings
The moment I thought of "powered-byou" was while riding my mountain bike early in the season, struggling to climb and push the clutter out of my mind. I was thinking about how to connect, how to know and trust I was on the right path. Not in the physical sense of cycling but in general. Was I doing the right things making the right choices for my family, friends, co-workers and myself? My faith leads me to trust in a higher power, knowing that I do not control everything and that things happen for a reason. I started repeating over and over "powered-byou" in my head. It helped me focus, connect, and physically climb the stretch of terrain I was struggling with.
I then realized how "powered-byou" could be applied to so many other situations in not only my life but others as well. Someone I highly respect explained that powered-byou affirms the idea that people need each other and are motivated by those who inspire them.
This site and all of those who have helped get this idea off the ground is a perfect example of how you can empower yourself and inturn be powered-by others.
